I recently visited the Dinosaur Park located next to the Horseshoe Crab Museum in Kasaoka City, Okayama Prefecture.
Just like its name suggests, this park is filled with many dinosaur statues!
And guess what — admission is completely free. It’s a great spot not only for families with kids, but also for adults who just want to enjoy something unique and fun.

🦖 What Kind of Park Is It?
The dinosaur park is actually a large open space right next to the Kasaoka City Horseshoe Crab Museum.
It’s not officially called “Dinosaur Park” — sometimes it’s referred to as Dinosaur Square or the park with dinosaur monuments.
It’s open to everyone, and you can come and go freely without any entrance fee.
🦕 Life-Sized Dinosaurs with Real Impact!
- ▲ The Tyrannosaurus Rex is especially popular. It’s huge — you really have to look up to
- see it!
- ▲ There are many other well-known dinosaurs too.
Most of the models are life-sized or close to it, so they look very powerful and realistic.
🛝 Playgrounds, Grass, and Relaxation
The park isn’t just about dinosaurs.
There are also play structures for kids, a large grassy area, and even covered rest spots where you can sit and relax on sunny days.
It’s a perfect place to have a picnic!
🦀 Don’t Forget the Horseshoe Crab Museum
Right next to the park is the Horseshoe Crab Museum.
If you have time, I highly recommend stopping by.
It’s not related to dinosaurs, but there are many rare and interesting exhibits, and adults will enjoy it too.
🌻 Also Nearby: Kasaoka Bay Farm
Just a 5-minute drive from the park, you’ll find Kasaoka Bay Farm, a roadside station.
It has seasonal flower fields, local produce for sale, and other fun spots to explore.
It’s a nice place to stop by on your way home.

The Dinosaur Park in Kasaoka is surprisingly fun for a free attraction.
It’s a place where adults can feel like kids again.

With lots of trees and nature, it’s also great for a relaxing walk or a refreshing break.
